Partner Organization Eligibility Requirements
Mobilizing Adams County to action so all can thrive is a collaborative effort of social service agencies, businesses and thousands of loyal donors and volunteers. Together we actively listen and swiftly respond to community needs, bringing a comprehensive approach to every challenge. A cornerstone of this effort is the partnerships created between United Way of Adams County and local partner organizations.
From strengthening local resilience to advancing health, youth opportunity, and financial security, United Way of Adams County is working towards a future where every person can reach their full potential. The United Way partner organization programs focus on these four Impact Areas: Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency.
Additionally, partner organizations demonstrate the organization's financial stability, geographic area served, needs being met in the community, and successes and challenges faced by the organization through their annual United Way Partner Funding & Renewal Application.
Organizations must meet all the following criteria to maintain their partner organization’s eligibility:
• The organization is directly engaged in charitable health or human services in Adams County and has provided these services for more than two years.
• The organization demonstrates that its services meet a significant community need in the health or human service area that is aligned with United Way’s Impact Areas. This must be documented in the annual United Way Partner Funding & Renewal Application.
• The organization is stable and capable of accomplishing its purpose as evidenced by its fiscal management, administrative and board leadership, quality of professional staff, and ability in fundraising and resource development.
• The organization operates, by policy and practice, without discrimination based on race, sex, age, religion or national origin in all respects including service to people, the selection of board and committee members, and the employment of staff.
• The organization is organized and operated on a non-profit basis, qualifying for charitable deductions under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Those granted partner organization status and agreeing to the terms of the United Way Partner Organization Agreement have access to the many UW partner benefits, including the opportunity to submit a request for program funding through the resource reinvestment process. Organizations wanting additional information about becoming a United Way partner are encouraged to call the Executive Director at 217-222-5020.
