The United Way of Adams County, Inc., holds itself to the highest degree of accountability and transparency. To ensure access to information, the organization makes its annual audits and IRS 990 tax forms available to the public. Annual Audit: Our audit is conducted annually in accordance with auditing standards accepted in the United States. According to their findings, the audits below present fairly in all respects the financial position of United Way of Adams County.
IRS Form 990: The Form 990 is the annual information return for organizations exempt from federal income tax. It is a public document that provides a source of useful information about a nonprofit organization's financial and charitable activities. The Form 990 is also a regulatory document used by the IRS to monitor the nonprofit organization for its compliance with tax law. Information contained in the form includes a summary of the organization's activities, assets, receipts, expenditures and compensation of directors, officers and certain employees.
Donor and Data Privacy Policy
United Way of Adams County cares deeply about the trust our donors place in us. That's why our Board of Directors is adopting a Donor Privacy Policy. This policy puts into writing what we have practiced for many years. We believe this policy strongly aligns with our core values of Leadership, Partnership, Responsiveness, Integrity and Good Governance.
Here's some important highlights from our donor privacy policy.
• We will never trade, share or sell donor personal data. We never have, and we never will.
• United Way employees are required to sign a confidentiality statement as a condition of employment.
• Designations: If a donor chooses to direct a portion of their donation to another United Way or agency, we provide your name, address, employer, and designation amount to the organization receiving your donation. Designation information will not be shared with the donor’s employer. Donors have the option to remain anonymous when making their donation.
• We publish the names of Leadership donors (gifts of $500 or more) in our Annual Report. Donors may opt out at any time by contacting us or by ticking the box on their pledge form.

This would not be possible without the dedication of our staff, partner organization staff, hundreds of volunteers and thousands of loyal donors who support the mission to inspire, unite, and empower the people of Adams County to reach their full human potential.
