Quincy, IL - December 19, 2025 - United Way of Adams County is proud to announce that the Good News of Christmas program assisted 50 families, providing support to 76 adults and 130 children across West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri this holiday season. Through the generosity of donors and volunteers, every family received meaningful gifts and essential household items reflecting the strength and generosity of the community.

Good News of Christmas exists to ensure families facing financial hardship experience the warmth, dignity and joy of the holiday season. Through a whole-family approach, the program created meaningful moments for children while also honoring parents and caregivers as an essential part of the celebration.

"This program is about more than gifts,” said Makayla Buckley, Communications and Programs Director at United Way of Adams County. “It’s about restoring hope and easing stress for families during a time that can be especially difficult. Because of this community’s generosity, families were able to focus on each other rather than worry.”

Families selected for the program receive thoughtfully chosen items tailored to their needs, helping to ease financial strain while creating meaningful moments during the holiday season. Good News of Christmas is made possible entirely through the generosity of donors and volunteers who believe that no family should face the holidays alone. Their continued support allows the program to reach more families each year and make a lasting impact across the region.
